About Troop 80

Located in Mechanicsburg PA, Troop 80 holds meetings at the Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church on Sundays at 4:00pm. The troop currently has 26 scouts and 9 adult leaders who support three patrols. This is a scout-led troop that focuses on using fun outdoor activities to teach skills and gain leadership experience. If you are interested in troop 80, you are welcome to attend any troop meeting. Participation Guidelines
2012 Troop Goals

Trout Stocking: Our trout stocking service project will be on April 12th and 26th and May 10th and 24th. All are on Thursdays from 5 to about 6:30 pm. We will meet at the fish nursery located at 36 Sinclair Road, Mechanicsburg 17055 and stock Hogestown Run.

Permission Slip

Directions: Travel west from Mechanicsburg on Trindle Road to just past Wertz Coal Yard, turn left on Sinclair Road. Take Sinclair Rd for about 1/4 mi to the Mechanicsburg Sportsmen's Assoc. Trout Nursery at sign on right. Take the single lane gravel road toward the nursery and park in the available spaces.

Upcoming Activities

Pioneer Coal Mine Camping Trip (May 18th -20th) - This is a first draft of the travel plan for the May 18-20, 2012, camping trip and coal mine tour. We will also do a steam train ride and a visit to Centralia. The troop will cover the entire cost. The individual times may change a little bit as well. We should have lots of chances to do some good cooking on this trip.....start thinking of some meal ideas. Perhaps the adults will be willing to do some judging and award a trophy?

Draft Tour Information Sheet Version 2

Memorial Day Parade (May 28th) - Meet in the Church parking lot at 9:30 am to march in the parade. We will then attend the memorial service at the Monument in Mechanicsburg Cemetery on Marble Street at 11. Class A uniforms required. Water will be provided by the Troop. There will be NO TROOP MEETING on the 27th.

Delaware River Tubing Trip (June 22nd - 24th) - We will be camping in PA close to the river, then spend the day with a leisurely tubing trip down the river. Tour information sheet under development
